There are two common forging methods:

1. Die forging:

A forging method in which a forging is obtained by using a mold to form a blank on a dedicated die forging equipment. The forgings produced by this method have precise dimensions, small machining allowances, complex structures and high productivity.

2. Free forging:

Free forging is a processing method that uses impact force or pressure to make the metal freely deform in all directions between the upper and lower anvil surfaces without any restriction to obtain the required shape, size and certain mechanical properties of forgings, referred to as free forging.

Among automobile metal materials, forgings have better heat treatment performance than castings and profiles, which gives them higher strength and good impact and wear resistance.

Various gears and shafts in connecting rods, crankshafts, gearboxes in automobiles, ball joints at the ends of tie rods, and brackets in suspension, etc. There are more trucks (such as axles, half axles, hub axle heads, fork heads of drive shafts, traction hooks, etc.).

The forging process is used to make the front axle of the car. Generally, the metal is pre-separated by drawing, rolling, bending and other steps. The front axle (or front beam) is an important part of the car steering bridge (or front axle). Its function is to use the swivel of the steering knuckle to realize the steering of the car and bear the vertical load and longitudinal load between the ground and the frame.
